Mail Action-III- Votes for the UNO Children's Rights and the Right to Remain

Dear children, young people and adults,

At the Conference of German Interior Ministers in Stuttgart the opportunity to implement the right of children and their families to remain together in Germany and to bring Children's Rights fully into effect was wasted.
This is, amongst others, a reason why the violation of Children's and Human Rights in Germany is, sadly, still an everyday occurance.

With the help of "Mail Action-III- Votes for the UNO Children's Rights and the Right to Remain" the action group "Hier Geblieben!" ("Stay Here!") would like once more to call upon the Interior Ministers and political parties nationwide to stand up for a more just Germany, and, at the Conference of Interior Ministers in Karlsruhe on the 8th and 9th December 2005, to legislate for a comprehensive Right to Remain and fully implement the UNO Children¹s Rights

In the atttched letter (attachment 1) please add your name, location and the appropriate date and forward to the Interior Ministers and party leaders (addresses enclosed in 2nd attachment).

Dear Interior Ministers and Party Leaders,

More than 140 days ago the chance to end the violation of Children¹s and Human Rights in Germany and fully implement the UNO Children"s Rights was wasted, as was the opportunity to legislate for the right of children and their families to remain together in Germany.

When dealing in particular with, not just children and young people, but also the weak and needy, a democratic state reveals how far it has evolved and whether or not it is prepared to face the global challenges of the new millennium.
A "civilised society" which, for the sake of deportation, allows children to be locked up and knowingly puts up with the violation of Children¹s and Human Rights every single day must ask itself whether it really deserves such a title.

Our leaders must also decide whether they want to stand for the values of world-candour, happiness, freedom, tolerance and acceptance, or for intolerance, discrimination and racism.

Therefore, we ask you to raise your voices and take up a clear position on democracy, tolerance, Children's Rights and the Right to Remain.

Please support the call from children and young people and make it your own, as many German politicians from Die Grünen, the PDS, the FDP, the CDU and the SPD have already done. (All supporting signatures to date can be found at www.hier.geblieben.net)


Stay Here!

We are children and young people of this world and in spite of all differences we are a part of a common reality. We deem ourselves united in our fight for a better world for everybody.
You say we are the future but we are also the present and therefore we demand:

- All children and young people who go to school or kindergarten in Germany, who live here, who fled to Germany or who were born here should retain the right to live in the Federal Republic of Germany with their families. Their parents should be allowed to work in order to care for their children. Children should have the right to learn a profession. They should have the same right to work, to travel and to continue living here.


- All those who are ill, old, who need help or who are disabled by war or other events must be supported by us. They should also be allowed to stay here. Families should be allowed to live here together.


- The Conference of Interior Ministers should finally pass a law that enables a Right to Remain for currently only "tolerated" refugees and they should stand up for the complete recognition of the UNO-Children¹s Rights.
